JOHN G. HOUGH (“Jack”) was the founding partner of Hough Law Offices, P.L.L.C.  Jack concentrated his practice in estate planning, wills, trusts, probate, and trust administration.Jack received a B.A. magna cum laude in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1958 and a J.D. from Harvard University in 1961.  After law school, Jack moved to Arizona and was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 1962.  From 1961 to 1962, he clerked at the Arizona State Supreme Court for Justice Lorna Lockwood.  Prior to opening Hough Law Offices, P.L.L.C. in 1991, Jack practiced law with a firm in Mesa, Arizona from 1962 to 1974, and he was the Chief Legal Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Empire Southwest in Mesa, Arizona from 1974 to 1991.Jack is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating in both ability and ethical standards.  He is a member of the following organizations:  State Bar of Arizona, American Bar Association, Mesa Tax Study Group, Estate Planning Committee of the Catholic Community Foundation, and the East Valley Estate Planning Council.  In addition, Jack is active in the community and has served as President of the following nonprofit entities throughout his career, including the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, Mesa United Way, Mesa Host Lions Club, Tri-City Bar Association, and Tri-City Estate Planning Council.  In the past, Jack has also served as Chairman of the Mesa Redevelopment Commission, the Mesa Senior Center Foundation, and the Catholic Community Foundation Estate Planning Committee.Practice Areas
